REPORT: PHARMACOLOGY DISCIPLINE TEXTBOOKS EXHIBITION AT KURSK STATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY (KSMU) LIBRARY

2nd February 2022 - Students from Group 7 of 3rd course, 6th semester attended an exhibition on textbooks for the discipline of Pharmacology held by Kursk State Medical University (KSMU) library with their teacher Dr. Lekso Kvachakiya (Fig. 1). The exhibition displayed a wide range of textbooks that are available for students to read and borrow from the library.

These textbooks were seen to include both textbooks and materials from the university’s Pharmacology department as well as books from external sources (Fig. 2). Students from Group 7 were excited to find that there was an extensive range of catalogue in various editions amongst the books displayed during the exhibition, not only on the subjects that are taught in the university syllabus.

This included textbooks on basics such as the pharmacological basis of therapeutics, as well as other branches of pharmacology such as on chemistry, pharmacology and their uses in modern and traditional medicine, on drug store and business management, ocular therapeutics, forensic pharmacy and others - all of which would appeal to the interests of students who are interested in these specific topics.

For those who are looking to hone their memorisation of drugs and their respective classifications, there were even pocket-sized books catering specifically to mnemonics and drug classifications.

Students who visited on this day enjoyed their time and are now aware of the various textbooks that are available for their studying as well as for reading in their leisure.
