Ежегодно 22 августа в России отмечается День Государственного флага. Он был установлен в 1994 году Указом Президента РФ от 20 августа 1994 г. № 1714 «О Дне Государственного флага Российской Федерации». 

Создателем трехцветного стяга считается Петр I, который в 1705 году выпустил указ, обязавший все торговые суда плавать только с бело-сине-красным флагом.

Официально бело-сине-красный флаг был утвержден как государственный флаг России накануне коронации Николая II в 1896 году.

В настоящее время используется следующая трактовка значений цветов флага России: белый цвет означает мир, чистоту, непорочность, совершенство; синий — цвет веры и верности, постоянства; красный цвет символизирует энергию, силу, кровь, пролитую за Отечество.

Накануне государственного праздника в регионах России вручаются госнаграды. К примеру, особенная награда – медаль Луки Крымского. Она учреждена Указом Президента РФ 19 июня 2020 года. Ею награждаются представители здравоохранения, проявившие самоотверженность и высокий профессионализм при лечении пациентов в сложных условиях, спасении их жизни и сохранении здоровья.

AUGUST 22 - RUSSIAN STATE FLAG DAY

Annually on August 22, the Day of the State Flag is celebrated in Russia. It was established in 1994 by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of August 20, 1994 No. 1714 “On the Day of the State Flag of the Russian Federation”.

The creator of the tricolor banner is considered Peter I, who in 1705 issued a decree obliging all merchant ships to sail only with a white-blue-red flag.

Officially, the white-blue-red flag was approved as the state flag of Russia on the eve of the coronation of Nicholas II in 1896.

Currently, the following interpretation of the meanings of the Russian flag colors is used: white means peace, purity, purity, perfection; blue is the color of faith and fidelity, constancy; red symbolizes energy, strength, blood shed for the Fatherland.

On the eve of a public holiday, state awards are presented in the regions of Russia. For example, a special award is the Luka Krymsky medal. It was established by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation on June 19, 2020. It is awarded to healthcare representatives who have shown dedication and high professionalism in treating patients in difficult conditions, saving their lives and maintaining their health.
