ENGAGING STUDENTS IN SCIENCE
12 декабря 2025 года на кафедре фармакологии КГМУ состоялась защита курсовых работ студентов 3 курса ММИ.
Курсовая работа – это результат плодотворной работы студентов и их руководителей в течение учебного года. Курсовая работа носит не только учебно-воспитательный характер, но и создает научную основу, что может стать источником научных публикаций, участия в конкурсах научных работ и основой для дипломного проектирования как профессионального стартапа.
Научная работа – неотъемлемая составляющая образовательной программы всех ступеней высшего профессионального образования, имеющая в вузовской практике свои специальные организационные формы. Выполнение и защита курсовых работ – важные этапы учебного процесса. Это сложный вид учебно-исследовательской работы, который способствует углублению и расширению знаний, формированию умения творчески применять полученные знания на практике, развитию у студентов интереса к научному исследованию.
При оценке курсовой работы комиссия учитывает несколько основных критериев:
- актуальность выбранной темы и качество проведённого исследования;
- структуру работы, логику изложения и оформление;
- презентацию результатов;
- умение чётко и кратко изложить суть работы, ответить на вопросы и защитить свою позицию.
The defense of my term paper allowed me to develop various concepts, such as analytical thinking, research skills, and communication skills. Thanks to this experience, I will be able to successfully apply the knowledge I gained in my professional work. The term paper allowed me to delve deeper into the topic of word composition and apply the acquired knowledge in practice. The group discussions with the instructor and classmates were especially valuable. During the discussion, I received helpful feedback that helped me see my work from a new perspective and improve it. Thanks to madam Irina Alexandrovna's expertise and attentiveness, I was able to successfully complete my project".
В завершении процедуры защиты курсовых работ были отмечены лучшие работы, студентам даны рекомендации по перспективам использования результатов исследования. Итоги защиты: работы получили достаточно высокие оценки - «хорошо» и «отлично». Поздравляем студентов ММИ с успешной защитой работ!

On December 12, 2025, the Department of Pharmacology at KSMU hosted the defense of third-year MMI students' term papers.
Term papers are the result of the students' and their supervisors' hard work throughout the academic year. Term papers not only serve an educational and pedagogical purpose but also provide a scientific foundation, which can serve as a source for scientific publications, participation in scientific paper competitions, and the basis for a diploma project as a professional startup.The educational process is aimed at training professionals able to reproduce and develop the material and intellectual potential of the country and work on the international labor market.
Productive development of modern education is inconceivable without students’ participation in research work. Students’ research activity may include the following:
- defense of the coursework and diploma projects with the elements of scientific research;
- laboratory research;
- writing and defending projects;
- participation in research seminars and competitions;
- preparations of reports and presentations for student’s scientific conferences ofd different levels (regional, national and international);
- participation in research work at offsite enterprises.
Research work allows student to acquire and develop inventive abilities opening the path to the election of application tasks of science and production. Student’s participation in research enhances the quality of theoretical and practical preparation for future professional activity, organizes the process of education, promotes development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills and allows them fuller and deeper understanding of their major subjects.
Involvement in research favors balance between collaborative and individual work, determines an area of interest and helps students explore career fields. Additionally, research work contributes to the interdisciplinary approach in teaching, develops personal potential and independent learning skills, and prepares students to take responsibility for and accept consequences of their actions. Moreover, participation in research activities encourages:
- formation of a cohesive learning community;
- problem-defining and its solution;
- communication skills;
- cognitive skills;
- creative skills;
- research skills;
- team work skills;
- persistence and achieving goals;
- skills of public presentations.
University administrations should encourage student’s research activities and motivate it by means of:
- celebration research success and broadcast good news;
- commemorative prizes;
- diplomas and certificates of merit;
- financial aid;
- scholarships, etc.
Thus, research work is one of the leading factors in the development of the
university. It has a positive impact on the quality of education, promotes professional growth, provides a link between training and modern science and focuses on the acquisition of knowledge, personal development and preparation for the future professional activity.
