On November 27, 2025, an international academic meeting was held at the Library of Kursk State Medical University (Mayakovsky Street 85, Kursk, Russia) as part of the International Scientific–Practical Conference “Traumatology and Orthopedics: Integration of Science and Practice”, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Kursk State Medical University and the 55th anniversary of the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics.

The conference was conducted in a hybrid format, bringing together on-site and online participants and ensuring wide international academic engagement.

The conference officially commenced with an opening address by Vyacheslav Alexandrovich Lipatov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovative Development of Kursk State Medical University.

In his address, Prof. Dr. Lipatov emphasized the integration of scientific research with clinical practice in traumatology and orthopedics, highlighting the importance of international cooperation, joint research initiatives, and academic exchange in advancing modern medical science.

Warm greetings were also conveyed on behalf of the Rector of Kursk State Medical University, Viktor Anatolyevich Lazarenko, who welcomed the international participants and expressed appreciation for their active involvement in the university’s anniversary scientific events.

A welcoming address was delivered by Prof. Dr. S. Geethalakshmi,
Vice-Chancellor, Dr. M.G.R. Educational & Research Institute (Deemed University), India.

In her speech, Dr. Geethalakshmi stressed the significance of cross-border academic cooperation, encouraged the exchange of clinical experience and research ideas, and highlighted the importance of nurturing young scientists and clinicians through international partnerships.

The scientific program featured active participation from doctors and academic faculty representing partner institutions of Dr. M.G.R. Educational & Research Institute, India.
Presentations were delivered by:
Assistant Professors and Associate Professors from Departments of Orthopedics, General Surgery, and allied clinical specialties

Practicing clinicians and hospital-based faculty, including a Medical Superintendent, reflecting the strong link between academic medicine and clinical practice

The speakers shared clinical experiences, case-based discussions, and applied research insights in trauma care and orthopedics, contributing to productive scientific dialogue and interdisciplinary exchange.

A special international highlight of the conference was the participation of Dr. Safrizal Rahman, Professor of Orthopedics and Traumatology, Universitas Syiah Kuala, Indonesia.

His contribution brought a valuable international perspective to discussions on trauma management and orthopedic practice, further enriching the global dimension of the conference.

The conference reaffirmed Kursk State Medical University’s commitment to global medical education, scientific excellence, and cross-border collaboration in traumatology and orthopedic science.
