KEEPING THE MEMORY ALIVE

       9^th of May is the day of memory and honors. On this day, sacred for all of us, we remember with pride and profound gratitude all those who brought an invaluable payment for the peace sky over our head. Their courage, firmness and heroism are a worthy example for all of us. Their feats will remain in our hearts forever.

       On May 7, the eve of the Great Victory Day, event took place dedicated to the 81^th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Students from groups number 33 and 34 studying in third year from the International Medical Institute had taken part in this event organized by Department of Pharmacology.

      The event started with a presentation and quiz of some facts about the Great patriotic War and Russian songs in English language about War were included. After the presentation the students recite poems dedicated to Victory Day by Evgeny Yevtushenko, Konstantin Simonov, Rasul Gamzatov, Bulat Okudzhava, in English and Russian languages.

       It seems so long ago the fiery whirlwind of the Great and terrible war passed through the Russian land. But the memory of those terrible days does not age, does not die. Poems, after all, also fought ... The war time was very hard. And then faith and hope in people were supported by poems. Many of them became songs and flew to the fronts of our Motherland. Who knows what the victory would have been without such support.

        In these poems are living and sincere stories of human destinies, thoughts and memories of the days that people had to endure during the war years.
