STUDENTS OF THE INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL INSTITUTE AT THE EXHIBITION DEDICATED TO THE 80TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE GREAT VICTORY

Traditionally, on the Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War, the Department of Pharmacology organized a trip for students of the International Medical Institute to the exhibition. This year it was an exhibition in the Kursk State Art Gallery named after A.A. Deineka - a wonderful classical art museum, which is located in Kursk.

Group 14 of the 3rd year of the International Medical Institute viewed the exhibition: "Different Days of the War", dedicated to an event of lasting significance. The Great Patriotic War and the Victory of 1945 are a special milestone in world chronology, a cornerstone, state-forming episode in the modern history of Russia.

The Soviet Union, which won the war against fascism, was multinational. In the ranks of its army, representatives of different nations, different regions and different ages fought hand in hand, helped each other survive and win. The theme of war has had and will have enormous consolidating and peacekeeping potential.

Victory Day has been and remains the main holiday of the country and its peoples throughout all these years. Meanwhile, generations of those who fought, worked, survived or were born during the war, and generations of those who heard stories "first-hand" are passing away. This carries the risk of reducing interest and losing understanding of the significance of the Great Patriotic War and Victory for the existence of Russia. Thus, talking about war is always not only a tribute to the country's past, but also a contribution to its present and future.

The memory of the war is celebrated annually, on different days and on different scales. The Immortal Regiment march is perhaps the most inspiring demonstration of the strength of spirit of Russians.

Like the march, the exhibition "Different Days of the War" also addresses the theme of memory. In memory of the heroes and ordinary soldiers of the battlefield, of those who survived and died in battles and skirmishes with the enemy. Tears in the eyes on Victory Day are not only tears of joy, but also tears of sorrow. The memory of the war years is not only the memory of triumphs, but also the memory of losses. The exhibition offers a reflection on this duality. The artists' works are compared with each other in blocks reflecting the polarity of specific feelings and experiences: happiness and grief, gain and loss, the transient and the eternal. The exhibition is emphatically psychological and associative, but this is so that the life of the generation of victors does not look flat and primitive. Genre works, portraits and scenographic works, symbolic paintings fill the halls, creating a general atmosphere. In the name of the exhibition, its organizers deliberately used the title of Konstantin Simonov's book in the hope that this writer and his war diaries will not be forgotten and will become the subject of private discussion.

With the exhibition "Different Days of the War", the Kursk Picture Gallery named after A.A. Deineka makes its feasible contribution to the celebrations dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory over Nazi Germany.

Students of the International Medical Institute expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the Department of Pharmacology for the opportunity to join and be inspired by such an important event both for the world and for Russia. Also, students of the International Medical Institute noted the need to hold such events to enrich their own historical and cultural potential and to introduce them to the history of a great country.
