On May 20–21, 2026, an Olympiad in the discipline "Pathophysiology" was held for 3rd-year students of the International Medical Institute. The Olympiad consisted of two consecutive stages, which made it possible to assess the level of preparedness of the participants.
During the first stage, students had to answer questions covering the pathogenesis of multiple pathological processes. The final stage included ten case studies of increased difficulty, covering the entire scope of the pathophysiology course.
Based on the results of the Olympiad, the places were distributed as follows:
1st place — Wijaya Arachchige Ihansa MinduniKarunarathne, student 3rd-year 11 group of the IMI;
2nd place — Padmavathi Muralee Abbinaya, student 3rd-year 6 group of the IMI;
3rd place — Ekanayake Poorna Charsha, student 3rd-year 11 group of the IMI.
The winners were solemnly awarded diplomas for their victory in the Olympiad.
