Уважаемые коллеги, студенты, земляки!

 22 июня 1941 года наша история разделилась на «довоенную» и «послевоенную». Родина оказалась в большой опасности, и миллионы советских граждан ушли на фронт ее защищать. Никто не знал, сколько продлится война, через какие испытания придется пройти и какой ценой заплатить за Великую Победу.
 22 июня – День памяти и скорби. В этот день по всей стране традиционно проходит акция «Свеча памяти». Но на самом деле такая «свеча» все время горит в сердцах детей, внуков и правнуков поколения победителей, ни на миг не угасая.
 Мы помним подвиг советского народа: 4 года, 1 418 дней и ночей страшных кровопролитных битв за мирное небо, десятки миллионов погибших и столько же разбитых судеб. Стойкость, мужество, героизм проявляли не только те, кто воевал на передовой, но и тыловики – дети и взрослые. Самоотверженно трудились медицинские работники в тылу и на фронте. 700 тысяч медиков вернули в строй 70% раненых. В их числе – выпускники курского медуниверситета. Многочисленные документы, воспоминания ветеранов свидетельствуют о тяготах военного времени и неоценимом героизме нашего народа в борьбе с захватчиками. Мы должны передавать эту память из поколения в поколение, помнить и знать свою историю!

Dear colleagues, students, fellow countrymen!

On June 22, 1941, our history was divided into "pre-war" and "post-war" period. The motherland was in great danger, and millions of Soviet citizens went to the front to defend it. No one knew how long the war would last, what trials they would have to go through and what price they would pay for the Great Victory.
June 22 is the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow. On this day, the "Candle of Memory" campaign is traditionally held throughout the country. But in fact, such  "candle" burns all the time in the hearts of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the generation of winners, never fading for a moment.
We remember the feat of the Soviet people: 4 years, 1,418 days and nights of terrible bloody battles for a peaceful sky, tens of millions of dead and  broken destinies. Fortitude, courage, heroism were shown not only by those who fought on the front line, but also by the rear – children and adults. Medical workers worked selflessly in the rear and at the front. 700 thousand medics returned 70% of the wounded to service. Among them are graduates of the Kursk Medical University. Numerous documents and memoirs of veterans testify to the hardships of wartime and the invaluable heroism of our people in the fight against the invaders. We must pass this memory from generation to generation, remember and know our history!
