22 июня 1941 года. Страшная дата. День, в который изменилась судьба для миллионов жителей нашей огромной страны. Все померкло перед грозным словом ВОЙНА. Молодые юноши и девушки – сверстники нынешних студентов КГМУ – отправились на фронт солдатами, медсёстрами, врачами, жертвуя собой и защищая Родину. Впереди были долгие и героические 1418 дней и ночей Великой Отечественной войны…
Профессор кафедры философии, директор музея истории КГМУ Елена Сергеевна Кравцова рассказала студентам о вкладе Курского мединститута в Великую победу: «В 1941 году был первый выпуск врачей нашего института, молодые специалисты сразу после выпускных вечеров отправились на фронт, спасать жизни. К сожалению, не многим из них удалось вернуться…».
Кристина Коротеева- участница театральной студии КГМУ«Дверь в лето» прочла стихотворение об испытаниях медицинских работников в годы Великой Отечественной войны.
Историческая память о тех страшных героических годах живет в письмах бойцов, солдат, сержантов медицинской службы, которые они отправляли с передовой, с фронта… Павел Саветин, Кристина Коротеева, Виктория Хаева прочли письма с фронта, которые. зрители прослушали со слезами на глазах.
«От героев былых времен» в исполнении  Егора Семикина- солиста вокального ансамбля «Гармония» никого не оставило равнодушным.
После минуты молчания преподаватели, студенты зажгли свечи в рамках акции «Свеча памяти» у памятника медицинским работникам, погибшим в Великой Отечественной войне 1941-1945, на площади перед главным корпусом КГМУ в память о тех, кто уже никогда не вернется…

"CANDLE OF MEMORY" AT KURSK MEDICAL UNIVERSITY

June 22, 1941 is a terrible date. The day when the fate of millions of residents of our vast country changed. Everything faded in front of the terrible word WAR. Young boys and girls – the peers of the current students of KSMU – went to the front as soldiers, nurses, doctors, sacrificing themselves and defending the Motherland. There were long and heroic 1418 days and nights of the Great Patriotic War ahead…
Professor of the Department of Philosophy, director of the History Museum  of KSMU Elena Sergeevna Kravtsova told the students about the contribution of the Kursk Medical Institute to the Great Victory: "In 1941 there was the first graduation of doctors of our institute, young specialists went immediately after graduation  to the front to save lives. Unfortunately, not many of them managed to return...".
Kristina Koroteeva, a participant of the KSMU theater studio "The Door to Summer", read a poem about the trials of medical workers during the Great Patriotic War.
The historical memory of those terrible heroic years lives in the letters of fighters, soldiers, sergeants of the medical service, which they sent from the front ... Pavel Savetin, Kristina Koroteeva, Victoria Khaeva read the letters from the front, which the audience listened with tears in their eyes.
"From the Heroes of bygone Times" performed by Egor Semikin, the soloist of the Harmony vocal ensemble, left no one indifferent.
After a minute of silence, teachers and students lit candles as part of the "Candle of Memory" campaign at the monument to medical workers who died in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, on the square in front of the main building of KSMU in memory of those who will never return…
