На базе кафедры биологической химии КГМУ 24 мая 2022 года состоялась I Международная научно-практическая электронная онлайн-конференция «ПРОКОПЕНКОВСКИЕ ЧТЕНИЯ», посвященная памяти и 90-летию со дня рождения профессора Леонида Георгиевича Прокопенко. Организаторами конференции являются Курский государственный медицинский университет и Ферганский медицинский институт общественного здоровья.
В конференции приняли участие ученные из 4 независимых государств: Российская Федерация, Республика Узбекистан, Республика Беларусь и Донецкая народная республика. Сотрудники и студенты Курского государственного медицинского университета, Ферганского медицинского института общественного здоровья Республики Узбекистан, Донецкого национального медицинского университета имени М. Горького Донецкой народной республики, Белорусского государственного медицинского университета Республики Беларусь, Первого Московского государственного медицинского университета им. И.М. Сеченова, Национального медицинского исследовательского центра имени В.А. Алмазова, Казанского государственного медицинского университета Республики Татарстан, Национального исследовательского Мордовского государственного университета им. Н.П. Огарёва Республики Мордовия, Медицинского института Орловского государственного университета имени И.С. Тургенева, Новосибирского государственного медицинского университета представили результаты своих научных исследований в виде докладов и статей.
С приветственным словом к участникам конференции обратились ректор Ферганского медицинского института общественного здоровья Республики Узбекистан, профессор, доктор медицинских наук Акмал Абдукахарович Сидиков и проректор по научной работе и инновационному развитию Курского государственного медицинского университета, профессор, доктор медицинских наук Вячеслав Александрович Липатов.
Выступила заведующий кафедрой биологической химии Курского государственного медицинского университета, заместитель директора Института непрерывного образования, доктор медицинских наук, доцент Долгарева Светлана Анатольевна с докладом на тему «Леонид Георгиевич Прокопенко и дело его жизни (к 90-летию со дня рождения ученого). Память его учеников». Выступившая отметила огромный вклад профессора Л.Г. Прокопенко в развитие Курской научной биохимической школы. Леонид Георгиевич Прокопенко посвятил всю свою жизнь науке. В 1957 году закончил с отличием лечебный факультет Курского медицинского института. Остался аспирантом на кафедре биохимии, защитил кандидатскую диссертацию в 61-ом году, а спустя 6 лет защитил докторскую диссертации. В связи с открытием в КГМИ в 1966 г. фармацевтического факультета Л.Г. Прокопенко был избран первым деканом фармацевтического факультета. Л Г. Прокопенко был организатором фармацевтического факультета и первым заведующим кафедрой органической химии. С 1970 и по 1973 гг. был деканом лечебного факультета. Более 40 лет, с 1970 г. по 2011 гг,. профессор Л.Г. Прокопенко заведовал кафедрой биологической химии КГМУ. А с 2011 года и до последних дней своей жизни работал на кафедре биологической химии профессором. Л.Г. Прокопенко - автор более пятисот научных работ, в их числе два научных открытия. Под его руководством было подготовлено 19 докторов и 45 кандидатов медицинских и биологических наук. Л.Г. Прокопенко награжден медалью ордена «За заслуги перед Отечеством» II степени, знаком «Отличник здравоохранения», памятным знаком «За Труды и Отечество», медалью «Лучшие люди России», памятной медалью РАЕН «Автору научного открытия», включен в энциклопедию «Лучшие люди России»».
Леонид Георгиевич оставил яркий след в истории университета и запомнился как талантливый ученый и руководитель, отзывчивый коллега и учитель для многих участников конференции.

По единодушному мнению организаторов и участников конференция прошла в плодотворной и творческой дискуссии, в атмосфере конструктивного диалога и обмена опытом и мнениями. К ZOOM-конференции присоединилось 292 участника. Студенты и сотрудники Ферганского медицинского института общественного здоровья Республики Узбекистан в количестве 115 человек подключились к ZOOM-конференции из конференц-зала своего института. Общее количество участников конференции, которые слушали и участвовали в обсуждении докладов достигло 407 человек.

I INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE "PROKOPENKOV READINGS" 

At the premises of the Department of Biological Chemistry of KSMU, on May 24, 2022, the First International Scientific and Practical online Conference "PROKOPENKOV READINGS" was held, dedicated to the memory and 90th anniversary of the birth of Professor Leonid Georgievich Prokopenko. The conference is organized by Kursk State Medical University and Fergana Medical Institute of Public Health.
The conference was attended by scientists from 4 independent states: the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Belarus and the Donetsk People's Republic. Employees and students of Kursk State Medical University, Ferghana Medical Institute of Public Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Donetsk National Medical University named after M. Gorky of the Donetsk People's Republic, Belarusian State Medical University of the Republic of Belarus, I.M. First Moscow State Medical University. Sechenov, V.A. Almazov National Medical Research Center, Kazan State Medical University of the Republic of Tatarstan, N.P. Ogarev National Research Mordovian State University of the Republic of Mordovia, I.S. Turgenev Orel State University Medical Institute, Novosibirsk State Medical University presented the results of their research in the form of reports and articles.
The rector of the Fergana Medical Institute of Public Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Akmal Abdukakharovich Sidikov and Vice-Rector for Research and Innovative Development of Kursk State Medical University, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Vyacheslav Alexandrovich Lipatov addressed the participants of the conference with a welcoming speech.
The head of the Department of Biological Chemistry of Kursk State Medical University, Deputy Director of the Institute of Continuing Education, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Svetlana A. Dolgareva made a report on the topic "Leonid Georgievich Prokopenko and his life's work (on the 90th anniversary of the scientist's birth). The memory of his disciples." The speaker noted the huge contribution of Professor L.G. Prokopenko to the development of the Kursk Scientific Biochemical School. Leonid Georgievich Prokopenko devoted his whole life to science. In 1957 he graduated with honors from the medical faculty of the Kursk Medical Institute. He remained a postgraduate student at the Department of Biochemistry, defended his PhD thesis in the 61st year, and 6 years later defended his doctoral dissertation. In connection with the opening of the Faculty of Pharmacy at KSMU in 1966, L.G. Prokopenko was elected the first Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy. L. G. Prokopenko was the organizer of the pharmaceutical faculty and the first head of the Department of Organic Chemistry. From 1970 to 1973 he was Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. For more than 40 years, from 1970 to 2011, Professor L.G. Prokopenko was the head of the Department of Biological Chemistry of KSMU. And from 2011 until the last days of his life he worked at the Department of Biological Chemistry as a professor. L.G. Prokopenko is the author of more than five hundred scientific papers, including two scientific discoveries. Under his leadership, 19 doctors and 45 candidates of medical and biological sciences were trained. Prokopenko was awarded the medal of the Order "For Services to the Fatherland" of the II degree, the badge "Excellent Healthcare Worker", the commemorative badge "For Works and the Fatherland", the medal "The Best People of Russia", the commemorative medal of the Russian Academy of Sciences "To the Author of a scientific discovery", included in the encyclopedia "The Best People of Russia".
Leonid Georgievich left a bright mark in the history of the university and was remembered as a talented scientist and leader, a sympathetic colleague and teacher for many participants of the conference.

The total number of conference participants who listened and participated in the discussion of reports reached 407 people.
